Tempe Arizona is the home of the
Arizona State University and as one would expect
is primarily a college town. There are a number of residential
areas. Most of the homes were built in the 1970's and
1980's. Since Tempe is surrounded by Phoenix,
Scottsdale,
Mesa, and
Chandler,
there is no room for the expansion of new homes. The majority
of homes are priced reasonable in the 130k to 150k range.
The neighborhood are well kept. Downtown Tempe Arizona
offers much to do. Mill Avenue hosts the bulk
of Tempe activities. Mill Avenue runs adjacent to ASU.
The street is lined with small boutiques, restaurants,
and bars. Tempe Town Lake is located at the northern end
of Mill Ave. And offers boat rentals and a fun place to
walk the dog. In additional, the lake hosts the 4th of
July and New Years Eve celebrations which are among the
largest in the country. Tempe's central location in the
east valley makes it a preferred location for many. For
those seeking apartment living, Tempe Arizona is an excellent
choice.
One of ASU's landmarks is ‘A'
Mountain which provides a sparkling view of Tempe Arizona.
Tradition has it that during the college football season,
students from neighboring University of Arizona attempt
to sneak on to the mountain side and paint the giant
‘A' on the mountain U of A colors. Security guards
often patrol the mountain as a counter measure. However,
it is all in good fun. Arizona State's Sun Devil
Stadium host the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl each year,
a choice for the college football National Championship
game. The Fiesta Bowl attracts thousands of sports fans
each year.
